Reiki is a healing art and practice that was introduced by Dr. Mikao Usui in the 1920s in Japan. Dr. Usui was a well-educated religious scholar who rediscovered Reiki during a 21 day long meditation atop Mount Kurama. He brought his revelations and the healing power of reiki back to the people, and began teaching it to others. He taught Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, a medical doctor, who then trained Mrs. Hawayo Takata in the 1930s. A Japanese-American woman, Mrs. Takata introduced reiki to the United States. Takata trained 22 other Master Teachers including John Harvey Gray, husband of Lourdes Gray who taught Courtney Petrucci.

Unlike other energy healing modalities, reiki practitioners do not use their own personal energy. Reiki practitioners act as channels for reiki energy, and deliver it to their clients by gently placing their hands in specific areas on or around the client's body.

The word "reiki" means "universal life energy". It is energy that is available to everyone, regardless of religion, culture, age, etc. 

Reiki is safe during pregnancy and effective at lessening the negative side effects of cancer treatments. It also facilitates the healing of injuries and is beneficial before and after surgery.

Each type of crystal has a specific energetic vibration, which is why they are so popular in energy healing. When we place crystals on or near our body, our energetic vibration rises or lowers to match that of the crystal. The crystal we choose to work with depends on our needs and whether we need to raise or lower our vibration. 

The crystal’s traditional usage and symbolism also matters. We may choose a crystal based on its corresponding chakra, metaphysical properties, associated elements, or simply choose the one that calls to us.

We place the crystals on or near your chakra centers to remove energetic blockages and restore balance and peace. 

Crystal Healing may not be suitable for everyone. Some find the crystals' energy too overwhelming. If you book a Crystal session and decide it's not a good fit for you, we can put the crystals away and switch to a simple reiki session.
